The ever popular buffets have now expanded to include Sunday brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is in addition to the regular Sunday evening buffet from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Friday buffet, from noon to 2 p.m. offers a soup and salad bar and a dessert bar.
Amy has worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years, having opened the Southdale Restaurant in 1988. Over the years, the restaurant name has changed but her philosophy has not.
You will also be greeted by a friendly smile and a warm hello when entering the restaurant. All of Amy's regular customers are greeted by their first name and made to feel as if they were at home.
"I have many friends who are also my customers," said Amy. "Even from 19 years ago when I first started."
A testament to her fine reputation came this year when Amy's Place was honoured with the 2007 Small Business Excellence Award from the Strathroy & District Chamber of Commerce.
"It was a real surprise and honour," said Amy. "I always put my customers first."
Amy's Place has been located at the corner of Front Street and Highway 81 for 10 years, but next summer it will be moving to the outskirts of Strathroy-Caradoc.
A brand new Amy's Place will be loacted across from the Strathroy Motor Inn, at the corner of Highway 81 and Second Street.
The new facilities will offer a larger dining room, expanded menu, and most importantly, a separate and private banquet hall.
"It is very exciting to be moving into a bigger place," said Amy.
For now, however, if you are in the mood for good Chinese or Canadian food, drop into Amy's Place.
